As a fan of independent films, I recently came across the charming and relatable movie, “Laggies.” Directed by Lynn Shelton and written by Andrea Seigel, the film follows the story of Megan, a woman in her late twenties who is struggling to find direction in her life.
The movie opens up with Megan’s boyfriend proposing to her. However, she is not sure if she is ready to take such a significant step. She begins to feel suffocated by the expectations that society has put on her as a woman. This leads to a quarter-life crisis where she realizes that she has not accomplished anything significant and has been stuck in the same routine for years.
She takes an impulsive decision to run away from everything and everyone. That’s when she meets Annika, a teenager who is going through similar struggles.
